Welcome to my site about Cross Country Ski and Skiing Equipment

Welcome to my site about cross country skiing. It's about classic skiing, it's about ski equipment, training, technology and everything that I think is related to and associated with cross country skiing. My purpose with this site is to give you as much information on ski and pole technology, skiraces and competitions, but also fitness in general,
_and of course information how to make a good cross country skiwaxing, XC ski-clothing, CCC1000, Cross Country Ski Trips and xc ski gear. The goal is also to give you skiing inspiration and advice to make you a better skiier. So welcome to my site about the wonderful world of cross country skiing.

Cross Country Skiing as exercise

Cross country skiing is considered one of the world's best forms of exercise because you have to use both your arms, stomach, back and legs to ski. It's a great excercise for both your heart and lungs (and a lot of fun) so my recommendation is to start this experience by running out and buy a good pair of cross country skis.

How to find the perfect pair of cross country skiis?

It's according to my experience largely a matter of the type of skiing you engage in (recreational or sport) and amount of experience you have and offcorse how much money you are willing to spend. Simply try several configurations in order to find your ideal set up. There are also a big different if your aime is to compete or if it is to get a good exercise. Personally, I have several different pairs to make sure that I have have options depending on the snow conditions and where I plan to ski. Sometimes I train 100% and other times I very much enjoy to just stroll along at a slow pace, so I can take in the beauty and tranquility of my surroundings. Tip: If you don't have your own skiis or don't want to buy a pair until you know how to XC ski, consider renting your gear. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and it's also a very cheap and simple sport to learn compared to alpine skiing.

Nordic skiing is also endorsed by medical pros for its high level of cardiovascular fitness in a low stress movement. Running for instance, in comparison, puts a lot of stress on you muscles and joints. You'll use all major muscle groups and burn LOTS of calories.

If you live in a place where the snow is unsecure during the winter seson, I can strongly recommend to stert train skiing on a pair of Rollerskis. The rollerskis of today have realy improved and skiing in the summer on a good road is almost as fun as cross country ski in the winter, ther are also some new skis typ the Skike Rollerskis that you now can use in the forest and och better trail running tracks.

About me:
My name is Fredrik Erixon, I'm 47 years old, live in Stockholm and love cross country skiing. I have a wife and three children and work as a project manager and party planner at a advertising agency. I like all kind of sports, but "Järnmannen" (the iron man) in Kalmar Sweden, trail running at Hindertimmen, tennis and Stockholms-klassikern and Åre Extreme Challange are favorite competitions that I try to compete in from time to time.
